CANADIAN ABORTIONIST FOUND GUILTY OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ON PATIENTS

NANAIMO, BC, September 25, 2001 (LSN.ca) - On Friday, former abortionist Dr. Mark Walter Stewart was convicted on 10 of 12 counts involving assaults on nine female patients. Stewart, of Campbell River, BC, will be sentenced Nov. 30.

In reporting this case, the media have consistently failed to admit Stewart performed abortions. The coverage by CP today refers to him as a "retired doctor" and says the assaults occurred "at Stewart's family practice." When the case hit the media in July, Campbell River-area pro-lifers told LifeSite that Stewart was an abortionist. John Hof, President of Campaign Life Coalition BC, told LifeSite: "If Stewart were in dentistry or psychiatry he would be identified as a dentist or a psychiatrist, however, since he is an abortionist he is only referred to as a local physician. Interesting."

Earlier reports indicated that well-known abortionist Ellen Wiebe was to testify against her colleague at the trial noting that sexual touching is not associated with medical examinations.

She informed the paper that the second trial began in March and will involve 1,500 women. So far, 900 women have enrolled in the second study.

The abortion pill trials were approved by the Canadian government secretly and without public consultation. The first study was already underway three months before Wiebe even mentioned that Canadian women were being experimented on with the deadly chemical cocktail.

AMERICAN CHRISTIAN LEADERS CALL FOR AMERICA TO REPENT

NEW YORK, September 14, 2001 (LSN.ca) - Following in the ancient tradition of God's people, Christian leaders in America have recognized the need for God's protection following the horrendous terrorist attacks Tuesday, and are calling for a "spiritual revival". On his 'The 700 Club' program Thursday, Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition, discussed the attacks with Rev. Jerry Falwell.

On the show, Robertson listed the insults to God committed in America such as abortion, pornography, and barring God from schools and public spheres and commented that "God Almighty has lifted His hand of protection from us." Falwell agreed with Robertson's assessment adding that he feared the attacks Tuesday, "as terrible as it is, could be miniscule - if, in fact - God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve."

Falwell, a Baptist minister who is chancellor of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., was explicit in identifying groups and actions he believes resulted in God's removing his protection from the nation. "The ACLU's got to take a lot of blame for this. And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way - all of them who have tried to secularize America - I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"

The program ended praying earnestly for the families of the victims, and begging for a turning of America "to the Lord God."

FATHER PAVONE ASKED TO LEAVE PRIEST FOR LIFE
10-Sep-2001

New York past eight years, has been asked by Cardinal -- Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life for the Edward Egan to resume fullthe Archdiocese of New York and leave his present position with Priests for -time work within Lifereason for the decision is the need for parish priests in New York, and is consistent with similar decisions of the . The Cardinal to call back many other New York priests who are on special assignment.

Anthony DeStefano, Executive Director of Priests for Life, made the following statement:

"We are shocked at what has happened and frankly can't make heads or tails of it. Neither can other pro-life leaders worldwide. I know that Fr. Frank has committed his entire life to ending the tragedy of abortion. He has told me that he is preparing an important public statement to be made in the near future. He is continuing to negotiate with the Cardinal through all the proper channels and in accordance with the demands of Canon Law.

"In the meantime, in order to avoid any wrong impression that Priests for Life would operate without the blessing of the Church, Fr. Pavone has officially transferred the leadership of the organization to me and his other close associates, until such time that a new priests director is chosen. He and the organization have a long track record of fidelity to the Church and the bishops, and Fr. Frank does not want the organization which he built and which he loves so much to suffer because of a decision to transfer him."

DeStefano also said that Priests for Life would continue on the course Fr. Pavone has set for the organization.

"We have detailed plans that were formulated by Fr. Pavone which we will

follow to the letter. Nothing is going to stop this organization from doing the things that have made us so effective in the past eight years. I am confident that all our friends and benefactors in the pro-life movement will continue to work harder than ever with us to make this happen."

Fr. Pavone is one of the leading voices in the pro-life movement. Cardinal John O'Connor appointed him to Priests for Life in 1993. Since that time, Fr. Pavone has transformed the fledgling group into an international organization with a multi-million dollar budget, a staff of almost 40 full-time employees, four full-time priests, and a global media outreach.

FBI SAYS MARKETING OF ABORTED BABY PARTS NOT ILLEGAL
7-Sep-2001 -- EWTN News Brief

KANSAS CITY, (CWNews.com/LSN.ca) - An FBI probe launched in March last year has concluded "after thorough review of the issue" that "there was no violation of federal statutes" by the marketing of aborted baby body parts.

The investigation looked into the case of Miles Jones, a broker between abortion clinics supplying body parts and those interested in the body parts-- ostensibly for research purposes.

Police were alerted to the situation by an ABC "20/20" documentary, which interviewed Jones and his macabre but lucrative harvesting arrangement with a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Kansas. Jones had a price list for baby body parts asking $999 for a brain, $150 for skin, and $325 for a spinal cord. The ABC documentary came after news of the aborted baby parts marketing scheme was first revealed by Life Dynamics, a Texas based pro-life group.

Jones expected Canada to be the leading source of fetal body parts, especially for "late" abortions, thus "larger" babies. On hidden camera, Jones was recorded as saying about Canada: "We're actually going in there and saying to the clinic, we're going to cover some of your processing costs, and your overhead. We become a very attractive alternative to them. So ... I'm believing that they're going to be our best source for the late ones and we know where the larger ones are there."

Acting US Attorney Jim Flory of Kansas said Friday, "The matter has been closed."

PERU CARDINAL THREATENS PRO-ABORTION POLITICIANS WITH EXCOMMUNICATION

LIMA, September 5, 2001 (LSN.ca/CWNews.com) - Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani of Lima, the primate of Peru, has instructed pastors to deny Holy Communion to politicians and other public figures if they persist in public support for abortion.

Upon the request of Cardinal Cipriani, the archdiocesan Pastoral Commission has sent to all pastors a document entitled, "Moral and Legal Dimensions of Abortion," which is designed to set forth "a pastoral and sacramental response to the increasing culture of death, as well as consistent criteria to deal with this grave moral problem."

The document, written in a question-and-answer format, reminds pastors that the Church describes abortion as "a horrendous crime," because "it takes away the life of an innocent creature entitled to be loved by his parents, and who has been deprived of enjoying the goods of this life, in particular Baptism and the graces of Christianity."

The text also recalls that the penalty of excommunication "latae sententiae"-- automatically imposed-- is still applied to all those involved in an abortion, "including the assistant doctors, the nurse, whoever provides the money, etc." It also says that those who assume a favorable position regarding abortion "are committing a grave fault by supporting a crime."

"The pastor having a parish member in this condition can deny him Holy Communion in public, only after warning him or her in private," the text says.

Finally, the document call pastors to promote the culture of life through positive initiatives, including "praying for legislators," assisting women in crisis pregnancies, educating people about the development of life inside the womb, and encouraging the media to join in building a culture of life.
