Why the Church says no to women in the Priesthood?

By Charbel El-chaar

The first priest in the Jewish and Catholic Traditions was a male and his mane was Mel-chiz'edek king of Salem.

According to Fr. George Farah the pastor of the Melkhite Catholic Church in Toronto, The Catholic Church does allow women to be on the altar, but not to be a priest, not because it discriminate women, but out of respect. And because women do not slaughter. And also because they are the source of life and life comes trough them.

The Traditions of the sacrifices and the offering to God was at the hand of male priest in Old Testament and still at the hand of a male priest in the Christian era. And "Mel-chiz'edek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High.(Gen:14/18)" Gen.14

In the Books of Leviticus Chapter Lev.4 [35] we see the offering made by men priest too "And all its fat he shall remove as the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings, and the priest shall burn it on the altar, upon the offerings by fire to the LORD; and the priest shall make atonement for him for the sin which he has committed, and he shall be forgiven.

Women priest? Why now?

The Priest is the link or a bridge between God and the His people he is the offered and the offer, he offer sacrifice and he is the sacrifice, when women offer their children to the god of social and economic reason or to the god of choice and relativism by abortion, they act like a priest. And here, I would like to make to correlation between contraception, abortion and the question of women to the priesthood. The roots of abortion are contraception. And according to Planned Parenthood the largest abortion advocates in the world. Abortion is "post-conceptive family planning".

For 35 years or more Christian families are having less and less Children. This situation came about from the rejection of children and the large family, by the use of contraception and abortion, and as we know usually vocations comes from the large family, we see today less and less calls to the priesthood, and the western Churches are hunting vocations from the third world countries to keep up with it services. Since we have small and small families, we have less calls to the priesthood, therefore there is empty place for the priest. We hear the liberal Pro-Abortion women are asking the Catholic Church to have women as priests. What a profanity after they advocate for the killing of the unborn children and among them the unborn future priest, now they want to take his place in the Church.! After they killed their unborn priest at the hand of mostly male abortionist too, they want start slaughter Christ Himself At the sacrifice of the Mass.

The Holy Father John Paul II  (1)

In 1994 Pope John Paul II formally declared that the Church does not have the power to ordain women. He stated, "Although the teaching that priestly ordination is to be reserved to men alone has been preserved by the constant and universal tradition of the Church and firmly taught by the magisterium in its more recent documents, at the present time in some places it is nonetheless considered still open to debate, or the Church’s judgment that women are not to be admitted to ordination is considered to have a merely disciplinary force. Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church’s divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Luke 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church’s faithful" (Ordinatio Sacerdotalis 4).
