Texas Passes Law Warning Women of Possible Breast Cancer Risk Prior
to Abortion

- The Texas Senate passed informed consent abortion legislation
Wednesday which requires that women are afforded information on
abortion 24-hours prior to going through with the procedure. Bill HB
15 specifies that women must be made aware of abortion's risks
including: i) the risks of infection and hemorrhage; (ii) the
potential danger to a subsequent pregnancy and of infertility; and
(iii) the prospect of increased risk of breast cancer following an
induced abortion and the natural protective effect of a completed
pregnancy in avoiding breast cancer. Saint
